Aishwarya Rai was dropped from Heroine after the news of her pregnancy broke out, and now the actress has done what she feels is right. Aishwarya has returned a cheque which was given to her as a signing amount for the film, to the producers UTV, leaving many in shock.
The mum-to-be is certainly in the best phase of her life, and we think she did right by returning the money because some were of the view that Ash should compensate for the losses to the producers of Heroine. But she was never asked to return the signing amount, say UTV officials. The production house was taken aback when the cheque reached them. “The cheque has nevertheless been accepted,” reveal sources.
And since Aishwarya shot for the movie for eight days and also took part in the ‘look tests’ (where the actress is photographed in her filmi costumes), sources claim that it was within her rights to keep the signing amount and she could have also demanded a part of her acting fees.
Both the production house and Aishwarya’s spokesperson confirmed about the cheque being returned.
Heroine now features Kareena Kapoor, who is reportedly getting Rs 8 crore for the film.
