Ash’s vision for India….

Shaina NC, a fashion designer, social activist and politician recently had a nice big chat with the very gorgeous Aishwarya Rai. Together, they covered several burning topics, which included Ash’s vision for the country, beauty pageants, various scams happening in the country and unity within the film industry.

Speaking about the promises made by beauty queens which are hardly or never stuck to once they join the film industry
Ash says, “I have not promised anything like that. After I was crowned Miss World, I engaged in charity work and collected money for various hospitals and kids who needed health care.”

On corruption, speaks Ash, “It feels good that the media is aggressive in exposing corruption. However, it is sad that the scams are happening in our country.”

Regarding politics, says the beauty queen, “I am not considering entering into politics. It is every Indian’s duty to do something for the nation and it can be done via apolitical route too.”

About Bachchan’s criticism, Ash said, “Silence is golden sometimes. We don’t need to react to everything that is being said in the media. However, if it becomes absolutely necessary, then we will react and people will listen to us at that time.”

What she feels about India’s position in the world, Ash said, “Our country is raging ahead of all.”

Her expectation from Indians
“I believe that everyone should dispense their duties at a personal level. Little contributions from everyone can make a big difference.”

Hubby Abhi gets wifey Ash on Twitter….

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has so far doggedly kept away from social networking. But on her fourth wedding anniversary on Wednesday, hubby Abhishek Bachchan persuaded her to come on Twitter.

However, Aishwarya did not open her own page on Twitter but rather chatted with the fans through Abhishek’s handle.

“Thank you all for the wonderful anniversary wishes. Will get Aishwarya to chat with you’ll this evening. Much love again… Ok guys, here she is….. Shoot away” Abhishek wrote on Twitter.

“Hello everyone, :) :) and thank you all so much for all ur love and wishes “4″ us on our special day. Truly overwhelmed. Love Aishwarya,” Ash wrote in her first Tweet.

Instantly, Ash was showered with congratulatory messages from friends and fans. From then on, Ash was busy ‘thanking’ the fans.

Dressing up Ash these days, is a bit of an added effort…

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to attend the Cannes Film Festival, come May (11-22).

The light-eyed beauty is aware that her red carpet looks will draw a lot of attention, as usual. And if a source, who is part of a major design house’s team, is to be believed, then dressing up Ash these days is a bit of an added effort.

No, it’s not tantrums that the source was hinting at, but that the actor’s apparently fluctuating weight reduces her number of choices of red carpet outfits.

The source says that this was the case when Bachchan sprung a surprise by sashaying down the red carpet of the recent Academy Awards in LA, with hubby Abhishek.

“Aishwarya is a very beautiful woman and very classy at that. But we couldn’t dress her up for the Oscars because she had put on a little weight. And our new line was full of gowns in light shades, which would not suit her because of this reason. I think that’s why she finally chose a dark brown number and it worked well too,” says the source.

Well, that was a few months back and sources close to the actor say that she has shed a few extra kilos since then. To give Bachchan the benefit of doubt, she was on a holiday back then and it is only natural that one lets go of their strict schedules during such times. But here’s what desi designers, who have had their brush with the red carpet suggest Ash does to get it right this time…

Abhishek Bachchan, on his wedding anniversary

Abhishek Bachchan talks about how he feels about not spending his wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife Aishwarya. It was the couple’s fourth anniversary yesterday, and while work commitments kept Abhi busy in Hyderabad for the early part of the day, He flew back to Mumbai to celebrate the evening with wife Ash.

“Both Aishwarya and I understand the nature of our work. For both of us family does come first, but work commitments cannot be compromised either. Besides, every day with Aishwarya is special anyway.” He does admit that being under constant public scanner does come with its own pressures, but ‘nothing that we can’t handle’. “We may be actors, but we are like any other normal couple too. We never let the lines blur,” Abhi smiles.

Buzz that is doing the rounds is that, the couple buzz will take off on a romantic week-long holiday soon after Ash returns from Cannes next month. However, Abhi will not be by his lady love this time at the film fest as he will be shooting in Russia for Players.

If noticed, Ash also, has not been accompanying Abhi on any of his promotional activities. Reason: says a source, “It’s just that she feels that her presence will prove to be a distraction. She wants the entire focus to be on Abhishek’s film alone,”

Happy Wedding Anniversary to Bollywood’s ‘Power’ Couple..

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai celebrate four years of marital bliss today. It’s a busy day for Jr AB but he will keep himself free in the evening and fly back to be with his beloved. Abhishek is currently in Hyderabad, promoting his upcoming film Dum Maaro Dum which releases this Friday.

A source reveals, “Abhishek will be in Hyderabad on today and Rohan plans to let Abhi off in the evening. AB Jr plans to fly in after that for a possible party in the evening at Prateeksha with close friends in attendance.”

Daddy AB was the first to wish the couple.

He wrote on his Twitter page: “Just past midnight and …. ” Happy Wedding Anniversary ” to Abhishek and Aishwarya .. spent time with them and brought in the day.”

Ash will not have Abhi by her side at Cannes….

Recently, we had reported that Aishwarya Rai will be walking the red carpet with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan at the Cannes film fest. But now, news has it that Ash will not have her hubby by her side.

Aishwarya and Abhishek, as a couple walked the red carpet together for the first time in 2007. Even last year, the duo were in Cannes, to promote their film Raavan.

However, this year, Abhi will have to skip Cannes as he will be busy shooting in Russia for Abbas-Mustan’s Players.

This 64th Cannes Film Festival will be held from 11th May to 22nd May 2011. Ash, being the brand ambassador for L’oreal, will be walking the red carpet for the 10th consecutive time.
A proud Abhishek said, “I am very proud of her. I think she is the only Indian actress to have that.”

Buzz also has it that not just the film fest, but, Abhi will also miss their fourth wedding anniversary on April 20th due to a packed schedule.

Abhishek Bachchan is all set to flaunt his love for Ash…

Abhishek Bachchan confessed, on a promotional event of Dum Maro Dum, that he would love to express his love to Aishwaraya by flaunting a tattoo. Now, Ash can also proudly enter the leagues of Kareena and Suzzane. The only thing that is stopping Abhi from getting a tattoo done, is that he is unable to decide on the design. But the actor is knee on giving his love a fresh touch.

Only time will show us his creativity.

Is Dutt really angry with Ash???

News has it that Sanjay Dutt is really very upset with people who are trying to spoil his relationship with the Bachchans. And he is not masking his displeasure about the fact that he is perturbed.

A source close to Dutt said, “Sanju is very upset with people spreading rumors about him being upset with Aishwarya. Sanjay Dutt claims that some people are trying to create problems between the Bachchans and him when everything is fine between them”

Buzz that is doing the rounds is that Sanjay is reportedly upset with Ash because she has kept his home production Satta Pe Satta on hold, concentrating on other projects.

“Sanju feels that some people with vested interests are trying to create misunderstanding between the Bachchans and him. Aishwarya has been the only actress approached till now for Satte Pe Satta and Sanju is prepared to wait till she decides on dates. In the meantime Sanjay Dutt Productions (SDP) will go ahead with its other projects.”

Dutt said, “The rumours about me being upset with Aishwarya are rubbish! I am upset with people who are spreading such rumours instead. The Bachchans are like my family. I can never be upset with them.

“We all know that filmmaking is a time-taking process. Everything takes time and happens in its due course.
Ash has told me that she needs some time and we at SDP are prepared to wait till eternity for her. It will be a pleasure working with Ash, if she agrees to do Satte Pe Satta.”

Dutt’s Satte Pe Satta is said to be a remake of Raj N Sippy’s Satte Pe Satta (1982) and is the story of seven brothers living on a large farmhouse.

No Anniversary Celebrations for Ash and Abhi this year….

Work will keep Bollywood’s star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai busy on their wedding anniversary on April 20th. Abhishek Bachchan has been so busy this year, that he cannot even take a day off to celebrate his fourth wedding anniversary with his gorgeous wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Abhishek will be busy promoting Dum Maaro Dum which is set to release on 22nd April and soon after that, he will be off for a shooting schedule.

Says the actor, “I don’t have a break at all. As soon as Dum Maaro Dum releases, I will be going to Russia for shooting (Abbas-Mustan’s) Players. There’s going to be no break for the anniversary as I am going to be thick in the middle of promotions at that time,”

Last year, the power couple were in the US on their anniversary. The year before that, Ash and Abhi managed to take some time off for themselves from the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan. On their first anniversary in 2008, Aishwarya had joined Abhishek in Miami as he was shooting for Dostana.

But this year, it all depends on Ash, if she could surprise her hubby as she doesn’t have any projects in hand.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Hema Malini????

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been offered to play Hema Malini’s role in the remake of Satte Pe Satta, which will be produced by Sanjay Dutt and directed by Soham Shah.

However, it has been about two months since and she is yet to come back with a definite answer.

A source told, “Soham has given her a two-and-half hour narration of the script. She seemed interested and promised to get back. But after that, she has still not given a confirmed response.”

The source added, “It’s time that Aishwarya clearly tells Sanjay and Soham if she is interested in doing the film or not.

Only then can they arrange the dates of every other actor in the film. Sanjay and Soham are very much keen to have her on board.”

Now, this has left Sanjay Dutt is in a fix. In order not to offend Mrs Rai Bachchan, he is not approaching any other heroine. he is waiting for a yes or a no from Ash.

Aishwarya’s 10th consecutive year at Cannes….

Less than a month to go and the world’s most beautiful lady, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen walking the red carpet at the Cannes film festival. This will be her 10th consecutive year at the French Riviera.

“I didn’t realise I was so close to completing a decade till someone pointed out to me last year, that I’d been coming to the fest for nine years. Abhishek wondered if any other celebrity had enjoyed such a long, straight run at Cannes,” said the lovely actress.

In the year 2003, Ash not only became the first Indian actor to be on the Cannes jury, She also became the global brand ambassador of L’Oreal, alongside Andie Macdowell, Eva Longoria and Penelope Cruz.

“People remember the Miss World title even after 17 years. Among my films, the most-watched are Devdas (2002) and Bride & Prejudice (2003),” says Aishwarya, who is all set to make her appearance in Cannes as the L’Oreal’s international face, despite rumours of being replaced.

“It’s been almost a decade-long association with L’Oreal, and a 12-year tenure with Longines. There’s a lot of love there, and when the time comes, I know the parting will be good. For now, the tenure continues,” said Ash.

This year, while Ash is on a break for whatever reasons, Abhishek is busy with shoots. However, Abhi is trying to work out his dates so they can make one more “together” appearance at Cannes.

Aishwarya Rai shifts focus on her home state for film projects…

Aishwarya Rai hasn’t seen a bright career in the recent past. Her films have not been doing very well off late. The actress has now decided to search projects in her home town, Karnataka.

Buzz has it that the lovely actress is keen on taking up an offer of a Kannada film alongside Puneeth Rajkumar, the youngest son of veteran actor Dr Rajkumar. She met up with a few filmmakers recently while her visit to Belgaum for a Kannada Sammelan. Apparently, she has zeroed in on this movie. The movie will be directed by Prem.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to to re-launch her official website after almost four years. We guess she has finally realized the importance of being connected to her fans.

Unlike most celebrities, Ash has always stayed away from networking sites. The Bachchan bahu says, “My former ( Hollywood) manager had created a website (aishwaryaworldforever) for me way back, much before these sites became popular. It had many great tools, and my favourite was one where you could just chat. It was great. I thoroughly enjoyed that… But the year I got married, I actually shut it.”

Ash adds, “I wanted to change many things on the website because initially I was too lazy/busy and I didn’t sit on the design. It’s three-and-a-half-years now that I have put it off. I put it on the backburner while adjusting to the changes — career, marriage, etc. Now, I have started work on it and will re-launch it soon.”

News has it that when Ash’s site was shut down, it used to garner nearly three million hits per day, a record by any Indian actor.

Till her site is not functional, she will use her husband and pa-in-law’s profile to clear the air about any rumours and controversies. “I can always go on there and say what I have to.” What about the trend of actors hiring managers to blog/tweet on their behalf, will she resort to that when busy? “You hear about a lot of colleagues having actually employed people to tweet. Is it honest anymore? You think people can’t see it? If they don’t, great for them but I can’t be doing that,” she concludes.

Aishwarya Rai had previously worked with Colin Firth in the film “The Last Legion”. She recently met him at Oscar party too, where Colin and his wife invited the Jr Bachchan couple to their home in London.

4 years of togetherness, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai…

One of the most romantic real life couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will celebrate their 4 years of togetherness on 20th April.

Though, the couple has not planned anything for their anniversary yet. Abhishek stated “Dum Maaro Dum will be nearing its release date so its promotion will be in the last stages.”

He said further, “I’ll be traveling across the country. Currently, I don’t know where I’ll be on our wedding anniversary. But Aishwarya will be with me wherever I am.”

He added “In the last three years of our marriage, Aishwarya and I have not exchanged presents on our wedding anniversary. We, instead, believe in celebrating our day by just being together.”

The actor said, “That’s a good enough present, because we’re all leading busy lives. Finding time to spend with our loved ones, partners and parents has become an exercise, and time is the most valuable commodity.”

In the mean time, it’s being said that Abhishek does not need any occasion to gift his father. He recently gifted Amitabh Bachchan an iPad.

The actor turned producer stated “Pa’s really happy with the gift, he’s going through the manual to figure how it works.”

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan set to light up the big screen again!

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were last seen together on the big screen in the film Raavan. Well fans of the couple will be pleased to hear that they are now set to star together in Raj Kumar Santoshi's Ladies & Gentleman, that tells the story of an unfaithful husband and his wife.

This film will see a few firsts for the couple; Abhishek will play a womanizer for the first time in his career and will be seen romancing several ladies, it will also be the couple's first romantic-comedy together.

The role was offered to Aishwarya five years ago but due to lack of dates the actress had to turn down the role.

On speaking about Aishwarya's role in the film, director Raj Kumar Santoshi tells the media that, "Aishwarya is perfect for this film. Though Aishwarya has done comedy before, this is a new genre for Abhishek and for them as a pair." He goes on to say that "This comedy takes me into the same genre as Andaz Apna Apna and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. But the humor here is not slapstick."

Ladies and Gentlemen will also see Raj Kumar Santoshi start a new banner named after his late mother who passed away last year. Shooting for the film is set to start in July.
